Will Paying My Collection Accounts Increase My Score

Paying or settling your delinquent debts, specifically those that have been sent to collections, can result in a higher credit score, but are you ready to pay over $10k in accumulated debt? Even if you do pay them off, the will still show as a negative account thus defeating the purpose of paying off the collections. FICO 9 and VantageScore 3.0 however, exclude collection accounts from score calculation once they've been paid off.

Note: Most lenders still use FICO 8 and it doesn't care one bit that you paid off a collection account. They look at it like you shouldn't of had it in the first place... HINT, that's where credit repair comes in. Removing the accounts off your history as if it never happened is the key!
